Fr. Frido Pflueger SJ, A life for others

On 19th June 2021 JRS lost someone very important for its mission: Fr. Frido.

As JRS Family and everyone who had him in their lives we did not only loose a colleague, but we have lost a friend, a brother, a source of motivation and love, of inspiration and commitment. We have lost a part of ourselves. But his memory and his legacy with refugees in the Region will prevail for many more years after his departure.

Might it be a message from God – just when he planned to end serving the refugees for a while and go back to Germany, on the eve of the World Refugee Day, the Lord decided to call him home.
Might that be a sign of how much his duty in this world was to accompany refugees, that his light turned off the moment he wanted to finish that mission.

In commemoration of the third month since Fr. Frido’s departure, JRS friends have put together a video from the funeral JRS Uganda together with so many of you from all over the world celebrated on 22^nd of June 2021.
